With torn textiles, something new is built through the rya. Evanescence and durability in one. Destruction and construction.

The human skin meets textiles most of the time, sometimes so much that we don’t even see it. But suddenly, there is sometime a moment that can make us notice a pile of clothes on the floor, when the light goes out and something changes, the pile suddenly appears as a body.

The existential is found in the textile. It carries on a story. Bodily memory. Of what it's like to be human. In solitude, caring, sorrow and through hostility. The textile is a silent witness to everything in a person's life. Witness to history and time, and at the same time it has a presence now.
